Capacity building for biosafety and ecological impact assessment of transgenic plants in East Africa BiosafeTrain is a collaboration with scientists from University of Nairobi and Kenya Agricultural Research Institute in Kenya (KARI), Makerere University in Uganda, University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, and the Universities of Aarhus and Copenahgen in Denmark.
BiosafeTrain is an Enhancement of Research Capacity (ENRECA) project, funded by DANIDA. During an expected period of 12 years, the project will build up capacity to cope with the challenges of introducing genetically modified crops in East Africa by developing a platform on biosafety impact assessment.
